Dottie King
Originally from South Florida where she was born and raised,
Dottie has had only sporadic art training.
Mostly working on her own she painted for friends and family. After her husband, Donald, was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer Dottie stopped painting and started to write poetry to entertain her husband. Donald lost his battle with cancer in 2003 and in 2004 she moved with her daughter and son-in-law  to Fredericksburg.
Becoming interested in painting again, Dottie and her daughter, Pam Middleton, visited the Fredericksburg Art Guild. At the guild she met many interesting artists and began taking lessons from Nancy Martin.
She is currently serving on the Fredericksburg Art Guild's Board of Directors.
Dottie is trying to develop a style of her own and is looking forward to painting and continuing to show her art at the Fredericksburg Art Guild in the future.
Please check back often as new paintings will be added as they are completed.
